Demonstration Programs
Roland Hege and Fred Connell have prepared a variety of Ornamental Lathe and Rose Engine presentations and demonstrations for your education and enjoyment. We have designed and built a Custom Rose Engine & Ornamental Lathe specifically for this purpose. Demonstrations and presentations include:

March 20-23, 2009 The Charlotte Woodworking Show at the Merchandise Mart on Independence Blvd., Charlotte, NC, USA at the Southern Piedmont Woodturners Club booths. We did continuous demonstrations all day each day and handed out demo pieces.
From February 2, 2009 to March 2, 2009, Exhibit: Roland and Fred included several Rose Engine decorated items in a display at the South Rowan Library, 920 Kimball St, China Grove, NC, USA.
January 15, 2009, Thursday. The Charlotte Wood Turners Club met in Charlotte, NC at the Jackson Ministry shop from 6:30pm until 8:30pm. We described an Ornamental Lathe and a Rose engine, presented the history of ornamental turning, decorated a few awls and an ornament hanger base with a variety of Rambling Rose Engine cuts and answered questions. We contributed the decorated pieces to the club to be raffled.
November 18, 2008, Tuesday. 23 members of the Charlotte Wood Workers met in Charlotte, NC at the Jackson Ministry shop from 6:30pm until 9:00pm. We described an Ornamental Lathe and a Rose engine, presented the history of ornamental turning, decorated 2 awls with a variety of cuts and answered questions. We contributed the decorated pieces to the club and they were raffled to the members.
November 8, 2008, Saturday. Over 100 members of the North Carolina chapter of Mid-West Tool Collectors Association met in Bethina, NC at the Bethina Moravian Baptist Church from 7:30am until 12:00 noon. We described an Ornamental Lathe and a Rose engine, presented the history of ornamental turning, decorated 3 awls with a variety of cuts and answered questions. We contributed the decorated pieces to the club and they were auctioned to the members. We were served a wonderful lunch including Moravian chicken pie.
January 15, 2008, Tuesday. 25 members of the Southern Piedmont Woodturners club met in Concord, NC at the Courthouse theatre from 7:00pm until 9:00pm. We described an Ornamental Lathe and a Rose engine, presented a brief history of ornamental turning, decorated several pieces with a variety of cuts, threaded a hollow vessel and lid, and answered questions.
