The 9" dogwood, trumpet, yelper, turkey call was turned from a whole dogwood limb and finished with Danish oil. The dogwood limb must be very straight so that the pith line will be removed in the hollowing process and the grain circles concentric around the horn. Very few dogwood limbs are straight for more than a few inches. The mouthpiece was drilled and turned from a piece of bone and the lip stop is carved from cork. The coss hatch or knurling pattern was cut with a universal cutting frame on the Rose Engine. The nylon neck chord is tied with a one lead 5 blight turks-head knot.
