Custom Rose Engine & Ornamental Lathe
Turning an aluminum idler pulley with a wood turning tool on a wood lathe.

This aluminum idler pulley was cut from a cylinder on the metal lathe.   After it was cut off the piece of stock, it was mounted on the midi wood lathe and the back side turned with a regular high speed steel bowl gouge.   It cut much like any hardwood like dry hickory and left a smooth finish.
